Search Engines and Capitalization

The general idea is that Search Engines don’t pay attention to capitalization. Search engine results will be the same no matter how you capitalize things. Is this really true? Some may disagree for a few reasons.

Sitemaps? They help?

My former belief was that sitemaps were basically worthless. (I used to think that) Google only indexes sitemaps every once in a while, and they didn’t really help. This was proved wrong, though.
